We’re very much looking forward to the Welsh Championship Porth Eirias Aquathlon which is taking place next Saturday, on the 18th of August.
This follows from 2017’s Porth Eirias Aquathlon which had 60 competitors enjoy a race with a difference – a race which put them through their paces with a 750m two-lap sea swim and 5km scramble to the finish.
2018’s event is very much the same formula, and will therefore be held in two 375m laps in the sea leading right onto a scramble to remove the wetsuits and embark on a flat 5km dash along Colwyn Bay’s pretty sea front to the finish line.
Last year’s winner, Micheal Lewis, has a really tough time of 27:32 to beat, but we’re sure that the participants of 2018’s event will give it a very good try!
Sadly, we hear that this year that participation slots in the Welsh Aquathlon Championships have sold out – but we’re sure that a walk along the seafront will allow you to see every second of this equally challenging and fun event.
The Porth Eiras Aquathlon is the brainchild of the Gog Triathlon Club – an organisation which is open to absolutely anyone in North Wales that likes to swim, cycle, or run.
Organisations like this are very much most of the reason why we love North Wales. The area of Colwyn Bay (as well as around the town) boasts so many organisations, clubs, activities, and things to do – and when you live here, you certainly won’t have any opportunity to become bored.
Why not drop into our showroom at The View in order to discuss living at the height (literally) of style in our fantastic apartments? The View Apartments boast the very best views in the area, offering you uninterrupted and absolutely unhindered sea and sky views in one direction, and a vantage of the rolling hills of the gorgeous Snowdonia National Park in the other.
Either before, or after the Aquathlon- come on by. We’d love to show you around.
